New hairstyle

Ivan has been working hard to be the daddy that does his girl's hair - watching YouTube videos and practicing a lot. He succeeded today - what an awesome Daddy!! 

A wild day at the zoo with Dad!

Ivan is finishing up lots of major med school things this week so he took a rewarding trip to the zoo today with Avery!

Ivan noticed that we take a lot of pictures of Avery but not many with Avery. We rarely have a picture with all three of us. So we decided to dress up a bit and take our nice camera over to grandma and grandpa's house for a little mini photo shoot. Here are a few of the good shots.

First Summer Zoo Excursion

Ivan, Avery, and I spent a wonderful afternoon visiting the Indianapolis Zoo. We met up with Ollie, Eve, Brandon, and Kim! The weather was perfect and most of the animals were out and about for us to see. Avery absolutely loves following her cousins around and she is starting to take more of a liking to Brandon and Kim as well. A great spring day!!!

Avery loves to stand at the counter and "cook" - which means she mixes flour and water. Usually turns into a mess but always very cute. 

Mommy is leaving

I am headed to Boston on Monday for a week to attend a medical conference. I am very excited to go but a little nervous about leaving Avery. I know Avery will be fine but I am not sure I will be able to handle it. I am sure going to miss my girl. First trip for mommy - 22 months without more than a day apart. 

Mommy is going to Boston.....and so is Avery?

Garden Time

We have a new summer adventure. We have a garden plot in the community gardens just a few blocks from our house. We are sharing it with my parents and excited to grow some delicious produce this summer. We planted our first set of seeds today. Avery came along to help but lasted about 10 minutes in the garden and then wanted to hit the playground across the street.
