Growing boy!

It amazes me how fast a baby can change. It seems like overnight. This little guy is getting bigger, smiling more, and winning over everyone's heart.

Driving through fire

I am able to write this post from the safety of my home with my baby sleeping in the room next to me and my girl at school. I am feeling blessed today. My mom and I were taking a vacation in Gatlinburg last weekend when the wild fire spread. I remember looking out the window of our cabin and the mountain was glowing. We grabbed the kids and got out of the cabin as fast as we could. As we drove down the mountain the fire was crossing the road in front of us and burning right outside our window. I have never been so frightened.

I think what surprised me the most was the overwhelming fear/love I had for my children in those moments. It is hard to put into words but all I could think about was keeping them safe.

Seeing the news reports now makes it all seem so surreal. Our cabin burned to the ground along with all the stuff we left behind. But in retrospect I would have done the exact same thing. As long as my family was safe nothing else matters. My mom was incredibly brave and I am so thankful we were together.

I am just going to give my kids a few more kisses and hugs in the weeks to come.

Family Day

The kids and I are headed to Bloomington tomorrow and then off to Gatlinburg for a week. Ivan is on the ICU and working crazy hours. He did have today off and we had an awesome family day. We are going to miss daddy this week.

Super dad

Ivan was nervous about residency and being away from his family. It is definitely a crazy schedule but he is doing an amazing job. He is an amazing dad and husband and we are so lucky to have him.
He worked overnight last night and was only able to sleep 3 hours but got up to have a date seeing Cinderella with his girl. And tonight played with Avery and her cousins.
We love you super dad!

Today was Kohen's two month check up - he is growing well and did not enjoy his shots.

Avery also went to see her new doctor - mostly she just wanted to be Kohen's doctor.

Gymnast

Avery has been doing gymnastics since she was 2. Today was her first time wearing a leotard. She looks so grown- up to me.

Take your granddaughter to work day!

Avery kept asking to go to work with grandpa so we did it today. She was so cute following him around. A future engineer.

Kohen can't get enough of grandma's arms.

Big sister

I think everyone is always a little nervous about how their first child will adjust to a new baby. My daughter has done amazing - she loves her little brother and loves helping take care of him. I am a thankful momma.

Bloomington escape

Ivan is working full days the next 3 days so the kids and I escaped to Bloomington for a few nights. Avery adores grandma and grandpa and I love the help. We took a great hike in the woods and have already gotten out all of their toys.

Kohen gets his first sink bath!

Meeting the neighbors

A few weeks ago we met some neighbors who have a 3 year old little girl! We are very excited! It is so nice to walk down the street and play. The girls really enjoy each other. Feels like we are getting to know the neighborhood a nit better. Yesterday the girls ran up and down Butler's football field.
