Christmas 2013

The Lupov family has been busy with the Christmas season. A few weeks ago we had a family getaway to French Lick Indiana. We rented a cabin for 3 nights and pretty much spent all our time playing with Avery. It was great to have several days with no work and lots of baby play time.

Last weekend we spent Saturday with family celebrating Christmas. Avery was worn out with the opening of presents and playing with her cousins. Turns out Avery and her cousin Eve had matching pajamas - this was not planned.  Christmas Eve we made a full dinner for my parents - 4th year in a row!

Christmas day has been a day for the Lupovs. We woke up late (thank you Avery) and opened presents at home with homemade cinnamon rolls. Spent the day playing with Christmas presents and napping - all three of us.

Overall, a great first christmas for Avery. Ivan and I both agree that having a daughter has changed the spirit of Christmas for us. The best gift of 2013 is our little Angel Girl.

Snow Day

Avery had her first snow day home with Dad. This past week between Thursday night and Friday day we had close to 9 inches of snow fall in Bloomington. I was able to make it to work but only 4 patients showed up. Avery and Ivan stayed home and had a snow day together. Ivan took her outside to enjoy the snow for the first time.

We have moved up in the world of car seats. The infant seat was a little small for Avery, so now she has moved up. She is still rear facing but she seems more comfortable.

Avery's First Holiday Season

Avery has experienced her first Thanksgiving! I think she was a big fan. She loved spending time with family and joined us at the table for her first Thanksgiving feast of rice cereal and carrot puree. Ivan and I just laughed because she fell asleep on the way home from grandma and grandpa's house (5 min drive) and slept close to 13 hours that night. She was worn out by all the festivities.

Moving into the Christmas season we have already been downtown for the lighting of the Christmas lights and a few cute family pictures. She is not going to truly understand Christmas this year but Ivan and I are going to enjoy watching her experience Christmas for the first time. If you are interested in getting her a present she is very into paper and bags - she would also enjoy ribbons and bows.  Really anything that she can put in her mouth is an A+ for Avery.

Entering the World of Food

Life has been eventful at the Lupov house as Avery is entering into the world of food. So far she has only experienced rice cereal with milk but she seems to enjoy eating. She has been very interested in watching us eat and trying to get our food so we thought it was time to start. I am not sure how much cereal actually stays in her mouth vs. ending up on the bib, but she is already getting the hang of it.

This is a video of Avery playing in the bouncer at daycare! I thought it was pretty funny!

Some one has discovered her toes and now all she wants to do is grab them.

Per request of Katherine here is a picture with me in it, doesn't happen that often these days, Avery steals the show!

Dirty Day at Daycare

I was able to pick Avery up from daycare on Thursday. This was the first time I have been able to pick her up....and she had a nice surprise for me. She had not gone poop in a week so we were waiting for it to arrive and it sure did on Thursday. When I arrived to pick her up they handed me a cute little girl in her diaper because she has pooped through two outfits and they didn't have anything else to put her in. She saw me and just gave me a proud smile, like she was saying "Look what I did Mom!" Now being November is was a little chilly outside so I wanted to put her in something for the trip home. We had luckily packed a sleep sack for her nap so I stuck her in that and she fell asleep on the way home.

Beautiful Fall Day

Life at the Lupov house has been a bit of an adventure the past several weeks. Unfortunately, I had a kidney stone about 2 weeks ago that knocked me out for a few days. It was very painful and bought me a trip to the hospital for a CT scan. I am lucky to have great friends here that took good care of me very quickly. Avery has also brought home some viruses from day care so there is a lot of snot in our house. Between Avery, Ivan, and myself I had to go buy 6 more boxes of Kleenex this weekend. Overall, we are all doing well but have just been taking it easy.

We enjoyed a great weekend at my parents house enjoying a perfect fall day. The leaves are changing and starting to fall and the kids enjoyed jumping in the pile that Grandpa made for them. We went on a hike in the woods and then cooked out hot dogs for dinner.  We have discovered that Avery loves being outside, so she really enjoyed the day. It was great for Avery to spend time with her family - cousins, Aunt, Uncle, and Grandparents. We are blessed to have our family close.

Here are some fun pictures from our fall weekend!!

It has been too long!

I have been very bad at posting over the past month but things are starting to quiet down here at the Lupov house.  Since the last post Katherine and Talia got married, Ivan's mom came to stay for 4 weeks, I went back to work, Ivan completed another block of medical school, and Avery started daycare. All of these events were exciting and great but the month was a bit on the overwhelming side.

This is Avery's second week in day care and she is doing great. She enjoys watching the older kids play. Today she took a 4 hour nap at daycare - we have a champion sleeper on our hands. She had to go for her 4 month vaccinations on Tuesday so she has been recovering with sore little (chubby) legs. We love the daycare and I know Avery is going to fit in so well.

Avey has changed a lot since my last post. She is so much more interactive and is developing her own little personality. She is usually calm and cool but when she gets mad or is unhappy she sure does have a temper and she will let you know. She is starting to have more of a voice and is discovering all the noises she can make. She is yet to roll over but has been in a different direction multiple times when we go to wake her up in the morning. She is changing so quickly and becoming such a little lady, she is so much fun!

Gearing Up for Crazy!

Sorry it has been awhile since my last post. Things here at the Lupov house have actually been pretty quiet and chill. Ivan started back to school and I am still at home with Avery. She continues to be an amazing baby. She is sleeping great at night and loves her long morning nap. She is starting to smile in response to you, which is so much fun. She is also making more cooing noises and just seems to be getting more of a personality. Ivan and I are in love for sure.

The Lupov family is gearing up for the next two week which are going to be crazy. We have two great weddings in the next two weekends. I am the Matron of Honor in Katherine's wedding this coming weekend and have the honor to stand in Talia's wedding in Wisconsin the next weekend. In between the two wedding I go back to work and the Sunday after Talia's wedding Ivan's mom arrives. The week after Talia's wedding Ivan has his first set of tests. CRAZY! We have been blessed to have so much free time at home with Avery.

Here are some new pictures for your enjoyment.
